Dec 5 - Birthday Draft

I've had this cake that I draw / paint for people's birthdays. I don't remember when it started, but it's probably been close to 20 years now. I'd really love to make a lovely / definitive version and turn it into a card. To that end, here's a draft I made last night playing with frosting lowlights, etc in photoshop. It's a long way from a final product, but a good first step.

Practicing photoshop painting. This is from another tutorial, although it wasn't nearly as thorough as yesterday's (basically it said "paint a pepper" and gave suggestions of brush sizes and opacity). So it's a bit rough, but I'm going to call it done.

Tonight I made a picture for the song James was going to record (How Firm a Foundation). Except... when he recorded it, he did a very cool original spin on the song that longer matches this image. Tomorrow I'll make a more appropriate cover and upload them both to YouTube. For today, here's the now-obsolete image:
